I’m Beth, I’m 23 and I’m still kinda figuring everything out (but then I guess so is everybody).
Some things about me:
- I’m a graduate of Victoria University, with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Media Studies. I’m currently doing my Honours year at Vic: my research essay is focussed around a book this dope medieval French woman wrote in 1405 (The Book of the City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan, if you’re interested). I live in Wellington, which has been my home for four years now.
- Writing, fiction or otherwise, is something I’ve always been into. I love to write short stories (if ‘love’ is the right word; I write mostly sad stories, because I am interested in exploring the darker parts of being human, but because of that writing short stories doesn’t really make me happy, exactly). I don’t write fiction very often though. These days most of my writing happens here on my blog.
- This blog is my little space on the Internet. I started it when I was just beginning to recover from two years of suffering with a pretty serious anxiety disorder. In the beginning I mainly talked about mental illness and my recovery progess. It was a way to explain to my friends and family what I went through, and also a way for me to raise awareness of mental illness. In twenty seventeen, I want it to encompass more of me, not just my anxiety (although that is a big part of my identity, it’s not everything). I want to blog more about my life, my interests and all the things that I go through.
